Dormouse

Also known as "micro-squirrels", these are not really squirrels at all. However they do have the climbing abilities and the bushy tails reminiscent of squirrels. They also have a lot of appeal. These adorable little animals are made for a nocturnal existence, and generally do not like being disturbed in the day time. The only dormice still available in the pet trade as of 2021 are the African pygmy dormice (Graphiurus murinus). They were banned from the USA from 2004 to around 2015, and disappeared from the pet trade for a long time after that. But now they are starting to make a comeback. We at THF's hope to be working with them very soon.
