Mouse

Mice come in several different varieties. There are smooth mice, angoras, textel, rex and silkies. Plus many others. The mice available most in the pet trade are the house mouse (Mus musculus), which have been domesticated, and come in a variety of colors and patterns. We at THF's currently only work with domestic fancy mice. However, we are going to expand our care to Egyptian spiny mice (Acomys cahirinus), African pygmy mice (Mus minutoides), and zebra mice (Lemniscomys barbarus). Mice are not really as affectionate as rats, but they are able to develop close bonds with their human keepers.
